This is a project of two schools: Group of Schools no 1 in Lubicz, Poland and Kalvarijos Gimnazija, Lithuania.
Project participants will be moved into the times of knights, common in the history of Poland and Lithuania. Getting to know
the virtues of the knights then, such as helping people with lower capabilities, looking after ill and weaker people, keeping their
promises, and acting according to the rules, they will develop cooperation, promote tolerance and get to know each other’s
cultures and history and build friendship between Poland and Lithuania. A vital aspect of the project is the fact that it will
also involve students with different handicaps. Among them there are students with cerebral palsy, with learning difficulties, and
physically handicapped . Through pointing out the values that led the knights we will prove that it is worth helping
others and fighting against all kinds of discrimination in everyday life. In the project students will take action in different tasks
connected with the times of knights, such as shooting a bow or preparing a feast. Project participants will create a website
where they will share their culture and history and reflections about the project, where they will be able to stay in touch with
their project partners and where they will be able to show the society, not only local, that they can get involved into spreading
a dialogue between Poland and Lithuania with passion in the atmosphere of friendship and tolerance and openness to other
cultures. Apart from all the aforementioned aspects, young people will work on their language skills by communicating with
their partners in English and by contact with authentic language of literature and film and they will improve their interdisciplinary
skills.
